It is with great sadness we share the passing of Karl O. Neuroth. Karl died on March 26, 2024, at the age of 89.
Born in West Reading, Karl resided in Clarks Green since 1965. He earned his BA at Kutztown University and attained a Master’s Degree in Art Education from Temple University. He founded the art program at Keystone College in 1965 and chaired the program for 40 years. He was the first recipient of the prestigious Chamberlin Chair for Distinguished Service in 1980. During his time at Keystone, he was credited with advancing the arts throughout Northeastern PA.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alvin Neuroth and Laura (Huyett) Barfield, daughter Brett Mershon, wife Roseann (Scott) Neuroth, and brother Alfred Neuroth.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years Diane Paparo, daughter Karla (Neuroth) Jennings, and Son-in-law Jim Mershon; his grandchildren Kyle and husband Steve Hoitsma, Erin and husband Joseph Mackey, Jason Jennings, Taylor Jennings, and 3 great-grandchildren.
A public celebration of his life is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Karl O. Neuroth Endowment for the Advancement of the Arts at Keystone College.
